El Paraiso
El Paraíso is a city east of Tegucigalpa of about 25,000 inhabitants. The inhabitants of this city grow agriculture, such as coffee, corn and beans for a living. Others take a public bus for about ½ an hour that takes them to tobacco fields and women work in cloth factories where they get paid a minimum wage ($110 per month). Although there are jobs available for people, there is a great spiritual need. Traditionally, men have been involved in social drinking and neglecting their responsibilites in the home.
Planted in in 2001 and lead by Muaro Himenez, El Paraiso is growing. They hold prayer meetings weekly and try to serve in the community where ever they are needed.
